Mindfulness is for everyone. While it has roots in Zen Buddhism, it is not a religious practice. Mindfulness is the practice of bringing your awareness to the present moment. The present moment is really all that actually exists, making this practice extremely important. Stress and anxiety come from being distracted by things that have happened in the past or might happen in the future. These distractions cause us to lose the ability to make use of and enjoy the present moment.
Are you experiencing life's journey in the present moment? Or will you end up at the end of your journey questioning how you even got there because you were so distracted by the past or future and missing the present moments?
With a mindfulness practice, you'll be able to come back to your present moment and really enjoy life as it's unfolding. We are human BEINGS. Not human thinkings. Not human doings. Human BEINGS. We've been conditioned to believing we must be thinking or doing at all times. In doing so, we miss the point of just being.
I encourage you today to just start a practice of being. Have no expectations of the moment. Just see what comes up for you.
